  1. This archive contains files to allow users of the DOS version of "Pro
  2. Pinball - The Web" to run a native Windows 95 version.  This archive
  3. also contains the Microsoft DirectX II components needed for the game.
  4. Please note that you will need the original game CD.

  6. Unzip this archive to a temporary directory using the "-d" switch to
  7. preserve directories.  Then run the "INSTALL.EXE" program, and follow
  8. the onscreen prompts.  We recommend that you install the windows version
  9. into the same directory as your DOS version, since you will be able to
  10. share any upgrade patches between both versions.  You will be able to
  11. store different option settings for the two versions, though hi-scores
  12. will be shared by both.  Once you have installed the game, you can run
  13. it by clicking on the created shortcuts, or by running the "PLAY.EXE"
  14. program.

  16. The keys have been changed from the DOS version, and the changes are
  17. noted below.  You can redefine these keys by clicking on the
  18. "options..." button on the PLAY program, but you cannot define them to
  19. use the same keys as the DOS version as there appears to be no standard way
  20. of reading the shift keys seperately under Windows 95 that will work on
  21. all systems.  The defaults were chosen to be in a similar layout on
  22. international keyboards.
